YSA Melbourne is an organisation for young Australians aged 15-25 with a passion for science. We maintain active involvement with many schools & universities within both Melbourne and regional Victoria. These are relationships we value very highly.

YSA is unique in the sense that it is one of the few organisations in Australia that brings together young, bright and enthusiastic STEM students. The majority of our members are in their first year of university. With YSA Melbourne’s frequent work with major universities in Victoria, we have often found that the interactions and experiences gained through YSA functions and events are significant influencing factors when students come to placing VTAC preferences for university entrance, with many members studying Science, Engineering or other related degrees.

YSA volunteers with many outreach programs that are run for high school students through the universities, and are always looking for more opportunities to help and be involved. We typically offer chaperones or staff trained in icebreakers and group activities, and in how to manage and lead groups of students to maximise their outcomes from the program.
